I’m a mixed media painter and collage artist with a studio in Vancouver. I am also an arts educator teaching in West Vancouver. I enjoy working outdoors (plein air) painting in order to feel and experience the environment I’m painting. I recreate landscape in an abstract manner as a way of becoming more acquainted with the natural environment. I do not copy what’s in front of me but instead work loosely and expressively to go well beyond a description. I want to experience the landscape I am in and convey this experience to the viewer.
