John Beatty is a Richmond artist who comes from a family of Ontario artists. He has been actively painting for over 65 years and has completed over 1150 mainly acrylic paintings with sales of over 500.
Since retiring as a Vancouver elementary teacher, he has continued his love of painting with fellow artists from the Meninhats art group in which he was one of six founding members.
Plein air and studio work focuses on stimulating subjects he can create in his colourful impressionistic style.
John continues to participate in the Steveston Grand Prix and the Steveston Salmon Festival. In August, he will again have a monthly show at the Steveston Post Office and Museum.
